check point

  1. it is a certain spot where people in authority conducts thorough check on passing vehicles and pedestrians. It is done in places where security is much needed and places of utmost importance as well. When certain events like a rise in crime occurs in a certain location police and military personnel conducts these check points to ensure public safety and somehow to track down the criminals as well.

  3. Check point is a road blocked by authorities to check all the vehicles and people passing through it. It can be of various reasons. Often check points are in border areas within two countries and it is there for making sure the passing vehicles and people cause no treat to their country. Often times check points are kept if robbery or criminals are chased and thought to be taken a route where they can be caught. In a game of chess a check point is where a king is in direct attack from the opponents keys.
